Welcome to Silver Spring Toastmasters, Oz and Bill! by Joan Phillips

As our Toastmasters year gets off to a rousing start, it's exciting to welcome two new members to our Club 1314 family! And it was great to hear from each of them last week, at our second meeting of the new year.

Oz Ortega is brand new to Toastmasters and relatively new to our area as well. In his intriguing Icebreaker speech, "Outlier", we got a strong sense of the focused, intrepid personality and "New York" style he's going to bring to his future speeches and other roles in our club. Already, we're looking forward to hearing from him again when he gives his second speech at our next meeting, August 18th.

Welcome, and Way to Go, Oz!!

Bill Aley is an experienced Toastmaster who'd been searching for an additional club to join and found it in ours. We got a taste of his engaged public-speaking style when he stepped up on short notice to give Oz's Icebreaker a perceptive, helpful evaluation.

Welcome, Bill! We certainly look forward to hearing more!!

To everyone else who's visited our club these past two meetings: Thanks for coming out! We've enjoyed your interest and participation. Please let me, or any of our other club officers/members, know if you have questions.

We hope to see you again next week and welcome you as a new member very soon!
